8.1.3.3 Eva Lotte Gumbert, born 08.05.1918 in Hannover
Arthur, Else and Eva Lotte Gumbert emigrated in 1936 to the Netherlands
and lived in Amsterdam. Arthur Gumbert was arrested and deported to
Mauthausen, where he perished on 06.10.1942. Else Gumbert and her
daughter Eva Lotte were deported to Auschwitz. Else Gumbert was
murdered on 22.05.1944, Eva Lotte Gumbert persihed in Novmber 1944.

Adolf and Frieda Gumpert lived in Kassel Moltkestrasse 7, they had a
household- and kitchen-appliance-shop in Königsstrasse 44, later in
Graben 42. They emigrated 30.07.1938 to Milano/Italy.

3.1.1.2 Julius Gumpert, born 11.03.1880 in Niedenstein, he lived
Kronprinzenstrasse ½ and had a clothing-shop in Obere Koenigsstrasse
39 (1914) and later Koenigsplatz 53 (1930).

3.1.4.1 Max Wertheim, born 23.08.1894 in Niedenstein. He married on
14.10.1921 in Kassel Luise Lion, born 23.05.1898 in Kassel, daughter of
Hermann Lion and his wife Caecilie, nee Rosenthal. Max and Luise
Wertheim had two children:

Max and Luise Wertheim were deported on 09.12.1942 with their

3.1.5.1 Mabel Gumpert, born in August 1889 in Philadelphia. She was married
in 1911 in Philadelphia to Milton Pollack, born about 1879 in
Philadelphia. Mabel and Milton Pollack had a daughter:

his wife Sara, nee Kugelmann. He was a merchant and lived in Hoof No.77
(today Herkulesstrasse / Teichstrasse 1). Jenni and Louis Heiser had a son:
52. Manfred (Fredi) Heiser, born 27.10.1924.
The family was deported to Theresienstadt, they came back to Hoof in 1945
and moved into the USA in 1948.
32. Selma Gumpert, born 04.04.1893 in Hoof, she was married 25.05.1921 to
Simon Speier, born 26.07.1888 in Hoof, son of Julius Speier and his wife
Jettchen, nee Rosenbach. He was a cattle merchant and lived in Hoof
No. 63 ½ (today Herkulestrasse 3). Selma and Simon Speier had a daughter:
53. Brunhilde Speier, born 14.07.1922 in Hoof
The family moved on 20.12.1938 to Kassel Gruener Weg 14. They were
deported from Kassel to Riga on 09.12.1941. Simon and Brunhilde Speier
were deported on 05.11.1943 from Riga to Auschwitz where they perished.
Selma Speier was deported on 09.08.1944 from Riga to Stutthof. She
perished on 05.01.1945 in Stutthof.
33. Gerda Gumpert, born 18.08.1900 in Hoof, she was married 04.09.1929 to
Meier Wallach, born 25.08.1896 in Breitenbach, son of Joseph Wallach and
his wife Veilchen, nee Meyenfeld. Meier Wallach moved on
26.10.1938 to Kassel, Klosterstrasse 24, Gerda Wallach moved on
12.04.1939 to Kassel. They lived from 04.06.1941 in the camp Wartekuppe
and were deported on 09.12.1941 from Kassel to Riga, where Gerda Wallach
perished on 09.08.1944, Meier Wallach in 1944.
34. Berthold Gumpert, born 25.09.1902 in Hoof, he was a tiler, he married on
20.12.1938 Irma Goldschmidt, born 20.01.1914 in Hoof, daughter of Max
(Moses) Goldschmidt and his wife Johanna, nee Rosenbach. Berthold and
Irma Gumpert moved on 20.12.1938 to Kassel, Gruener Weg 3. They were
deported on 09.12.1941 from Kassel to Riga.
35. Moritz Gumpert, born 04.10.1902 in Hoof, he married on 12.12.1931 Ida
Strauss, born 27.12.1901 in Storndorf. Moritz Gumpert made a commercial
apprenticeship in the Hoexter factory in Homberg from 1917 – 1920.
Moritz and Ida Gumpert lived in Kassel Schomburgstrasse 11. Moritz
Gumpert worked in the textil-shop of his father Jospeh Gumpert and started
up his own business in 1931. Moritz and Ida Gumpert had a daughter:
54. Doris Gumpert, born 19.08.1933 in Kassel.
The family was deported on 09.12.1941 from Kassel to Riga. Moritz
Gumpert perished in Riga in 1942. Doris Gumpert was deported from Riga
to Dachau where she perished 19.12.1944.
36. Bertha Gumpert, born 12.11.1903 in Hoof, she was married 11.12.1931 to
Siegfried Strauss, born 21.02.1900 ín Storndorf, son of Joseph Strauss and
his wife Katchen, nee Weinberg. Bertha and Siegfried Strauss had a
daughter:
55. Hannelore Strauss, born 07.04.1934 in Storndorf.
The family moved from Storndorf to Frankfurt/Main Klinger Strasse 27.
Siegfried Strauss emigrated to England in 1940, Bertha and Hannelore
Strauss got a permission to leave Germany and emigrated to the USA in
February 1941.
37. Edmund Gumpert, born 03.08.1905 in Hoof, he married 03.11.1937 in
Kassel Else Schoenewald, born 08.09.1915 in Waldbroel, nurse. Edmund
and Else Gumpert lived in Kassel Bahnhofstrasse 11. They emigrated
17.01.1938 to California.
39. Meinhard Gumpert, born 14.11.1908 in Hoof, he made a commercial
apprenticeship in the Lieberg factory in Milden, worked 1930/31 in the
Moritz-Wertheim factory in Kassel and started up his own business as a
textil-merchant. He lived in Kassel Schomburgstrasse 11. In springtime 1933
he was mugged and mistreated. He flet on 15.10.1933 to Amsterdam. From
Amsterdam he moved to France, Italy and Hungary, where he stayed till
1944. He was deported from Hungary in 1944 to an unknown place.
42. Siegmund Goldschmidt, born 30.10.1890 in Hoof, he lived in Kassel,
Moltkestrasse 9. He had an estate agent company together with his brother
Hermann Goldschmidt in Kassel Giesbergstrasse 2. He married 08.11.1929
in Barmen-Elberfeld (Wuppertal) Alice Simon, born 22.06.1904 in
Gelsenkirchen. Siegmund and Alice Goldschmidt had a son:
56. Rolf Goldschmidt, born 06.01.1931 in Kassel
The family emigrated 01.06.1933 to Strasbourg / France, later to Palenstine.
They lived in Haifa. Siegmund Goldschmidt came back to Germany after
war. He married a second time on 14.08.1963 in Frankfurt am Main. He died
on 08.09.1971 in Frankfurt am Main.
44. Hermann Goldschmidt, born 29.01.1893 in Hoof. He had an estate agent
company together with his brother Siegmund Goldschmidt in Kassel
Giesbergstrasse 2. He married 28.05.1930 Fanny Loeser, born 09.05.1906
in Bad Nauheim. Hermann and Fanny Goldschmidt lived in Kassel
Moltkestraße 9. They had a son:
57. Hans Louis Goldschmidt, born 19.03.1931 in Kassel.

47. Julius Goldschmidt, born 23.07.1899 in Hoof. He was a Lawyer (Dr. jur.)
in Kassel. He was banned from his occupation in 1933 and emigrated
01.04.1933 from Kassel to Palestine. He lived in Tel Aviv and moved at the
end of the 40th into the States, West Harford / Conneticut. Later he came
back to Kassel and wirked as a lawyer in Kassel. He died 10.07.1979, he is
burried on the new jewish cemetery in Kassel.
50. Selma Gumpert, born 01.07.1912 in Hoof, she moved to Soest 28.05.1929
Siegfried / Fritz Plaut, born 01.06.1911 in Witten. Selma and Siegfried
Plaut emigrated 08.12.1935 to Argentina. Siegfried Plaut died 12.07.1988,
Selma Plaut died 13.10.2002 in Argentina.
51. Erich Gumpert, born 30.06.1915 in Hoof. He emigrated to Argentina. He
had a son:
61. Mario Isaias Gumbert.
Erich Gumpert died at the age of 92 years in 2007 in Argentina.
8.1.1.1 Grete Gumbert, born 27.12.1897, she was married in 1927 to Otto
Hoellwig, born in 1894, chemist. Grete and Otto Hoellwig had a

8.1.1.2 Hans Ludwig Gumbert, born 01.07.1903, he was a jurist. He married

Anita Kaufmann. They emigrated to Australia. Heinz Gumbert died on

emigrated to New Zealand. He died in 1996.

murdered there on 05.06.1943.

Kassel to Riga.
