1. Moses Katz / Katzenberg, born 1760 in Hoof, died on 11.08.1827 at the age of 67 years in Hoof. He married Reisgen/Reitz Siemon, born 1766, daughter of Simon Naphtali and his wife Guedel, née Heinemann. She died on 23.02.1830 at the age of 64 years in Hoof. Moses and Reisgen Katzenberg had five sons:

Herz Katzenberg died on 23.10.1855 at the age of 62 years in Hoof, Hebe / Eva / Hannchen Katzenberg died on 20.05.1881 ath the age of 64 years in Hoof.

Jacob and Minna Katzenberg lived in Guxhagen Mittelgasse 10. They had four children:

24. Bertha Katzenberg, born 14.08.1869 in Guxhagen, she was married on 02.01.1895 in Guxhagen to Moses Plaut, born 17.10.1865 in Guxhagen, son of Salomon Plaut and his wife Giedel, née Speier. Bertha and Moses Plaut lived in Guxhagen Sellestrasse 12, they had a textilshop and Moses Plaut dealed with estate, stoves and cookers. Possibly there was a mikwa in the cellar. Bertha and Moses Plaut had had eight children:

29. Pisgah/Bisgah/Bissya Katzenstein, born 02.12.1877 in Guxhagen. She was married on 02.04.1908 in Guxhagen to Levi Oppenheimer from Witzenhausen. Bissya and Levi Oppenheimer lived in Kassel,Gruener Weg 20 and Orleanstrasse 13. They had a daughter:

Bissya Oppenheimer was deported on 01.06.1942 with her daughter from Kassel to Sobibor and murdered there on 03.06.1942.

Isaac Katzenberg, born 07.03.1882 in Guxhagen, he was a travelling salesman, he married on 21.11.1911 in Guxhagen Jettchen Katz, born 05.09.1890 in Guxhagen, daughter of Israel Katz and his wife Roeschen, née Sauer. Isaac and Jettchen Katzenberg lived in Guxhagen Poststrasse 4. They had six children:

Isaac Katzenberg was arrested in November till 17.December 1938 in Sachsenhausen. He was deported with his wife Jettchen Katzenberg on 09.12.1941 from Kassel to Riga and from there in November 1943 to Auschwitz, where both were murdered.

36. Sophie Katzenberg, born 03.10.1903 in Guxhagen. She was married on 30.12.1931 in Guxhagen to Theodor Apt, teacher in Berlin, born in June 1904, son of Hermann Apt and his wife Betty, née Gumpert.
38. Gitta Plaut, born 18.10.1895 in Guxhagen. She was married on 16.06.1920 in Guxhagen to Moritz Goldschmidt, teacher in Aurich, born 16.09.1886, son of Bernhard (Peretz) Goldschmidt teacher in Luebeck, and his wife Minna, née Stern. Gida and Moritz Goldschmidt had a son:

43. Max Plaut, born 20.03.1902 in Guxhagen. He moved to Hamburg, he was a merchant and married on 19.03.1933 in Hamburg Alice Hess, daughter of Leo Hess.
44. Siegfried Plaut, born 07.02.1905 in Guxhagen. Je married on 26.12.1935 in Guxhagen Sitta Katz, born 18.08.1910 in Guxhagen, daughter of Julius Katz and his wife Bertha, née Katz. Siegfried and Sitta Plaut had a daughter:

The family moved in May 1938 to Kassel, Moltkestrasse 10. Siegfried Plaut emigrated on 13.07.1939 to England. Sitta emigrated on 27.02.1941 with her daughter Gitta/Gertrud to New York/USA.
45. Grete / Gretchen Plaut, born 11.01.1909 in Guxhagen. She was married on 14.08.1935 in Bad Orb to Julius Pfeiffer, cattle dealer, born 07.03.1908 in Braunsbach, son of Salomon and Anna Pfeiffer. Grete and Julius Pfeiffer emigrated 1938 to New York/USA and lived in Manhattan Washington Highs. They had two sons:

Grete Pfeiffer died on 05.06.1990 in New York, Julius Pfeiffer died on 16.05.1999 in New York.
46. Cilli / Zilly Oppenheimer, born 04.11.1914 in Kassel, she worked as a taylor. She lived in different cities: Frankfurt/Main (1932), Darmstadt (1936), Mainz (1936) and came back to Kassel. On 01.06.1942 she was deported with her mother from Kassel to Sobibor and murdered there on 03.06.1942.
47. Moses Katzenberg, born 25.09.1912 in Guxhagen. He was a teacher in Oldenburg. He married on 10.08.1938 in Guxhagen Sofie Baum, born 26.08.1915 in Dortmund-Huckarde, daughter of Salomon Baum and hios wife Julie, née Reichenbach. The ceremony was made by the Rabbi Dr. Trepp from Oldenburg.
50. Klaere/Clara Katzenberg, born 30.09.1917 in Guxhagen. She lived in different cities: Fulda (1935), Leipzig (1938), Baden Baden (1938), Frankfurt/Main (1939). She was deported in 11.11.1941 from Frankfurt/Main to Minsk.
51. Erich / Elieser Katzenberg, born 25.07.1920 in Guxhagen. He moved in 1939 to Wuerzburg. He was deported on 09.12.1941 from Kassel to Riga and from there on 23,08.1944 to Stutthof.
52. Ruth/Rahel Katzenberg, born 03.01.1922 in Guxhagen. She lived in different cities: Stuttgart (1936), Bad Kissingen (1938), Frankfurt/Main (1939).
