Descendants of Lob from Nidda,
Ancestors of Gelle Strauss, the second wife of Isaac Blumenfeld
(from the genealogy “The descendants of Gerson Moses From Momberg” No.6)
FIRST  GENERATION :
1.  Lob, born ca, 1650 in Nidda. He had a son:
   
                                               + 2.  David, son of Lob.
Notes: Most of the informations about Lob and his descendamts comes from the book “Anleitung zum Stammbaum der Familie Strauss” by Rabbi Isaak Strauss and Salomon Koppel Strauss, printed 1910 by L. Schwann in Duesseldorf. A lot of information was lost when the synagogue of Schweinsberg and Niederklein burnt down.
SECOND  GENERATION :
2.  David son of Lob, born ca. 1680. He had a son:
                                               + 4. Baruch, son of David.
3.  Feist from Loshausen. He had a daughter:
                                                + 5. Giedel, daughter of Feist.
THIRD  GENERATION :
4. and 5.  Baruch, son of David, born ca. 1715 in Mainz, married Giedel, daughter of Feist from Loshausen. Baruch was a horse-trader and serve the Kurfuerst(s) of Mainz well with his supply of horses. For this reason he was given permission to live and marry in aother town and the bishop recommended Mardorf in the vicinity of kirchhain. It is documented that he paid half of the tax on Jews in 1714 which most probably means he arrived there in that year. “This tree up to and including Baruch’s children was composed in Mardorf on Thursday 29th  September 1853 by Baruch Strauss of Amoeneburg and Lob Lion of Mardorf.”
Baruch and Gidel had five children:

                                                 8. Mordechai, son of Baruch
                                                 9. Meier, son of Baruch
                                           + 10. Rifka / Rebekka, daughter of Baruch.

FOURTH  GENERATION :
10.  Rifka / Rebekka, daughter of Baruch, born 1745 in Mardorf, married first Meier from Niederklein. They had three sons:
                                           + 11. Hone / Hause Strauss
                                              12. Herz Stern
                                              13. Baruch, son of Meier.
She married a second time Mendel from Niederklein.
FIFTH  GENERATION :
11.  Hone / Haune Strauss, born 1765 in Amoeneburg, died 1854. He took the name Strauss. His parents died when he was five and he was forstered by his uncle Falk. Slept on a bale of straw behind the oven at his uncle’s home. He was brought up lovingly, but very strictly by Falk. He wore short pants, a long coat, a cap and buckled shoes. He drew his wisdom from the Thora. 
In 1795 he walked to Aschaffenburg in order to receive permission to marry. He was deeply religious and embraced the truth. In 1815, after the Vienna Congress, the Jews were forced tolearn a trade. Only the eldest was exempt. Hone became a merchant. He was a strict father, bur raised his childrento be hard-working merchants. These six brothers stayed together and in 1836 they founded “Gebrueder Strauss”, a wool business. This company became very successful and was only closed after the last brother Abraham had died. 
The fortified town of Amoeneburg was rules by the Kurfuersts and Archbishop of Mainz. When it became part of Westphalia – Jerome being pro.Jewish – the Jews rejoiced and paraded through the streets carrying flags and Thora scrolls. A similar procession was held for the Royal Commisar in 1866 when they became part of Prussia. The “Kopfzoll” (head tax) was abolished. (Anyone wishing to visit another town, was forced to to pay this tax to the gatekeeper.) The identification mark for Jews, the yellow patch omn the coat, was also abolished. 
Hone Strauss married first Gelle Loewenstein from Ruttershausen. They had a daughter:
14. Rifka Strauss.
Hone Strauss married a second time Dussel Loewenstein, born 1780, died 1851. They had nine children:

16. Herz (Hone) Strauss
17. Hirsch Strauss
18. Lob Strauss
                                               + 19. Samuel Strauss
20. Abraham Strauss
21. Fradchen Strauss
22. Giedel Strauss

SIXTH  GENERATION :
19. Samuel Strauss, born 1810, he died 23.11.1880. He was a tin smith. He married first in 1836 Jentchen Rosenbaum from Rodheim. They had three children:
24. Berta Strauss
25. Isaak Strauss
26. Rifka Strauss.
Samuel Strauss married a second time Hewe / Eva Schirling. They had three children:
                             
27. Meyer Strauss
28. Dusschen Strauss
29. Abraham Strauss.
Samuel Strauss married a third time in 1858 Hannchen Rosenbusch. They had a daughter:
30. Bella Strauss.
23. Gelle Strauss married Isaac Blumenfeld
