Genealogy of the Meyerhof Family from Hoof, Wolfhagen and Kassel

In the 18th and 19th centuries Meyerhof families lived in North Hesse in Arolsen, Hoof, Kassel, Volkmarsen and Wolfhagen. The origin of this part of the Meyerhof Family lies in Hoof, a village in the north-west of Kassel, Today Hoof belongs to the community of Schauenburg. The first ones I could find are Joseph Meyer Meyerhof and Meyer Joseph Meyerhof. Possibly they are brothers , possibly their father and their grandmother are Meyer Itzig and Itzig Meyers Rel. (widow), listed in the Judenstaettigkeit von 1744. But I cannot prove it.

(Karl E. Demandt: Die hessische Judenstaettigkeit von 1744. a.a.O., p.296.)
