The Plaut Mondschein Family from Felsberg and Kassel

FIRST GENERATION :
1. Joseph Plaut, born about 1590 in Vacha. He died after 1664 in Schenklengsfeld. He had two sons:
+ 2. Joseph Plaut, born about 1622 in Soden (Oberstoppel)
3. Mordechai Plaut, born about 1640, he died 1710.
SECOND GENERATION :
2. Joseph Plaut, born about 1662 in Soden. He married Theia, born about 1630 in Geisa. Joseph and Theia Plaut had seven children:
4. Liebmann Plaut, born 1655 in Soden
5. Chanine Plaut, born in 1665
+ 6. Jacob Plaut, born 1667 in Oberstoppel (Haunetal)
7. Meyer Plaut, born in 1673
8. Salomon Plaut, born 1675
9. Maria Plaut, born in 1676
10. Lula Plaut, born in 1678.
Joseph Plaut died about 1688 at the age of 66 years in Neuenbrunslar (Felsberg). Theia Plaut died about 1689 at the age of 59 years in Soden.
THIRD GENERATION :
6. Jacob Plaut, born 1667 in Oberstoppel. In 1710 he was a farmer and brandy destiller in Neuenbrunslar. He married Minke. Jacob and Minke Plaut had three children:
+ 11. Judemann (Juda) Plaut, born 1695 in Felsberg
12. Sussmann Plaut, born about 1700 in Neuenbrunslar
13. Marcus Plaut, born 1706 in Felsberg.
Jacob Plaut died in March 1731 at the age of 64 years in Oberstoppel. Minke Plaut died after 1732 in Oberstoppel.
FOURTH GENERATION :
11. Judemann (Juda) Plaut, born in 1695 in Felsberg. Judemann Plaut married in March 1730 N. N. Judemann and his wife had three children:
+ 14. Sussmann Plaut, born about 1730 in Felsberg
15. Moses Plaut, born 1730 in Felsberg
16. Jacob Plaut, born about 1730 in Felsberg.
Judemann Plaut died in 1771 at the age of 76 in Felsberg.
FIFTH GENERATION :
14. Sussmann Plaut, born about 1730 in Felsberg. He married Gelle Urn. Sussmann and Gelle Plaut had two children:
+ 17. Victor Plaut, born 06.04.1740 or 1750 in Felsberg
SIXTH GENERATION :
17. Victor Plaut Mondschein, born 06.04.1740 or 1750 in Felsberg. He accepted in 1808 the surname Mondschein. He married Eva Mansbach, born in 1755 in Maden (Gudensberg). Victor and Eva Plaut Mondschein had five children:
19. Gela Plaut Mondschein, born in 1782 in Felsberg, she died in Borken.

21. Minke Plaut Mondschein, born 1798 in Felsberg

Victor Plaut Mondschein died on 26.11.1828 ath the age of 78 years in Borken (Hessen). Eva Plaut Mondschein died on 21.01.1833 at the age of 78 years in Felsberg.
SEVENTH GENERATION :
20. Esther Plaut Mondschein, born 1783 in Felsberg. She was married to Samuel Moses Loewenstein, born 1773 or 1780 in Felsberg. Samuel Moses and Esther Loewenstein had seven children:
24. Breinchen Loewenstein, born in 1811 in Felsberg, she died on 17.03.1835
at the age of 24 years in Niederaula.
25. Samuel Loewenstein, born in 1812 or 1814 in Felsberg, he died on
04.10.1867 at the age of 55 years in Felsberg.
+ 26. Geltchen / Gelach Loewenstein, born 1814 or 1816 in Felsberg
27. Itzig / Isaak Loewenstein, born 1818 in Felsberg, he died on 15.09.1849 at
the age of 31 years in Felsberg.
28. Daniel Loewenstein, born 1823 in Felsberg, he died on 31.07.1830 at the
age of 7 years in Felsberg.
29. Aron Loewenstein, born 25.07.1825 in Felsberg, he was a butcher, he died
on 07.04.1891 in Kassel (Thiele, a.a.O., p. 255).
30. Jacob Loewenstein, born on 16.06.1827 in Felsberg, he was a butcher.
Samuel Moses Loewenstein died on 19.06.1847 at the age of 74 years in Felsberg. Esther Loewenstein died on 05.02.1857 in Felsberg, she is buried on the Jewish cemetery of Obervorschuetz, grave no. 139.
22. Samuel Plaut Mondschein, born in March 1799 in Felsberg. He was a taylor and collecteur. He married on 22.05.1828 in Felsberg Muehne Levi, born in 1803 in Mansbach, daughter of Aron Levi and his wife Sprinz Levi. Samuel and Muehne Plaut Mondschein had five children:

32. Gella Plaut Mondschein, born 05.03.1831 in Felsberg, she died
22.05.1834 at ther age of three years in Felsberg.

Samuel Plaut Mondschein married a second time Minna Dannenberg, born in 1803 in Mansbach, daughter of Feist Dannenberg and his wife Giedel, née Katz. Samuel and Minna Plaut Mondschein had two daughters:

Minna Plaut Mondschein died on 14.05.1871 at the age of 68 years in Felsberg. She in buried on the Jewish cemetery of Felsberg, grave no. 12. Samuel Plaut Mondschein died in 1871 at the age of 72 years in Felsberg.
EIGHTH GENERATION :
31. Victor Plaut Mondschein, born 31.01.1829 in Felsberg. He died on 05.11.1891 at the age of 62 years in Felsberg. He is buried on the Jewish cemetery lo Felsberg, grave no. 69.
33. Sussmann Plaut Mondschein, born 29.01.1833 in Felsberg. He married on 25.08.1865 in Felsberg Deiche / Dina Blach, born 04.02.1839 in Schwarzenborn, daughter of Victor Blach and his wife Hizel, née Wallach. Sussmann and Deiche first lived in Felsberg, since 1875 in Kassel. They had four children:

37. Sprinz Plaut Mondschein, born 04.11.1840 in Felsberg, she was married on 21.10.1868 in Felsberg to Sandel Rosenblatt, born 15.01.1839 in Hebel, son of Wolf Rosenblatt and his wife Braeunchen née Tannenbaum.
NINTH GENERATION :
38. Victor Mondschein, born 1871 in Felsberg, he married Hilda Heilbrunn, born 19.11.1881 in Schwarzenborn/Ziegenhain, daughter of Leiser Heilbrunn and his wife Vendchen, née Blach. Victor and Hilda Mondschein lived in Kassel, Wolfschlucht 6. They had fout children:

Victor Mondschein died on 03.02.1916 in Kassel (Thiele, a.a.O., p. 296). Hilda Mondschein married a second time on 28.12.1927 in Kassel her brother-in-law Karl Mondschein (62) (Thiele, a.a.O., p. 566).
39. Adolf Aron Mondschein, born 02.04.1875 in Kassel. He lived in Cologne. He married Mathilde, née Sommer, born 02.04.1884 in Marburg, daughter of Naphtali
Sommer and his wife Jettchen, née Stern. Adolf Aron and Mathilde Mondschein were deported on 07.12.1941 from Cologne to Riga.
40. Mathilde Mondschein, born 07.07.1876 in Kassel. She was married to N. N. Winter. They lived in Cologne. Mathilde Winter was arrested in the sanatory in Wunsdorf and deported from there on 27.09.1940 to the sanatory in Brandenburg / Havel, where she was murdered on 27.09.1940. (Gedenkbuch Bundesarchiv)
41. Karl Mondschein, born 11.10.1878 in Kassel. He was a merchant in Bruxelles. He married first on 03.08.1906 in Kassel Charlotte Sommer, born 07.12.1887 in Marburg, daughter of Naphtali Sommer and his wife Jettchen, née Stern. (Thiele, a.a.O., p. 509) Karl and Charlotte Mondschein had three children:
+ 46. Claire Mondschein, born 1908 in Bruxelles
+ 47. René Mondschein, born 21.05.1912 in Bruxelles
+ 48. Martha Mondschein, born 16.01.1915 in Kassel (Thiele, a.a.O., p. 169).
In 1919 Karl and Charlotte Mondschein got divorced. Karl Mondschein married a second time on 28.12.1927 his sister-in-law Hilda Mondschein, née Heilbrunn (no. 59 of this genealogy). Karl and Hilda Mondschein lived in Kassel, Wilhelmshoeher Allee 40. From November 1935 till March 1936 they travelled to Palestine.Back to Kassel Karl was captured and arrested in Dachau from 13.02.1937 – 16.09.1938 and from there till 26.08.1939 in Buchenwald. On 02.09.1940 he was deported to Sachsenhausen, from there on 03.09.1940 to Dachau, on 12.07.1941 from Dachau to Buchenwald and from there on 12.03.1942 to Bernburg /Saale, where he was murdered on 12.03.1942 (euthanasia). Hilda Mondschein was forced to sell the house in March 1938 and on 25.09.1941 she had to move into Moltkestrasse 10. She was deported on 09.12.1942 from Kassel to Riga and murdered there.
TENTH GENERATION :
43. Ernst Ludwig Mondschein, born 03.08.1904 in Kassel. He emigrated to Shanghai and moved later to Australia.
44. Toni Mondschein, born 05.03.1907 in Kassel, she emigrated to Palestine.
45. Paul Mondschein, born 08.07.1915 in Kassel. After finishing school (Abitur in 1934) he moved to Hamburg. When he came back to Kassel, he was captured and deported in November 1938 to Buchenwald. When he came back at 26.12.1938, he moved to Spreenhagen and prepared there an emigration to Palestine in Gut Winkel (Hachschara). But he was captured again and arrested in Buchenwald since 28.03.1939 and murdered there on 06.11.1939.

46. Claire Mondschein, born 1908 in Bruxelles, she emigrated into the USA.
47. René Mondschein, born 21.05.1912 in Bruxelles.In November 1938 he was arrested in Buchenwald. Later he moved to Paderborn and Berlin and tried to emigrate to Palestine. On the way on the Donau River he was captured near Sabac (Yugoslavia) and deported into the concentrationcamp Zasavica near Sabac and murdered there in Oktober 1941. 48. Martha Mondschein, born 16.01.1915 in Kassel, she emigrated into the USA and was married to N. N. Bauer. (Martha Mondschein Bauer Papers, a.a.O.)
72. Helga Reich, born 30.07.1923 in Kassel, she emigrated on 14.12.1936 into the USA (Thiele, a.a.O..p. 713).
