    Isaak Schaumberg married a second time Jettchen Rothschild

    from Erksdorf, born 17.09.1857, daughter of Markus Rothschild

    XII/1, Sara Schaumberg perished on 21.09.1942 in Terezin,

    Hermann Schaumberg on 14.11.1942.

deported from there to Theresienstadt (Terezin) on 18.08.1941,

25. Seligmann Schaumberg, born 24.11.1862 in Schweinsberg, he was ordained as rabbi,

migrated to Chicago and died in Kastan, Pennsylania.

26. Hermann Schaumberg, born 20.02.1865 in Schweinsberg, he married his cousin Sara

Schaumberg from Rauisch-Holzhausen. They lived in

Kirchhain. They had two children:

    Riekchen Schaumberg lived in Schweinsberg, emigrated to the

    USA in 1885 and died there.

  2. Moritz Schaumberg, born 16.09.1869 in Schweinsberg, he married Rosa Kaufmann

    from Borken, born 20.03.1878. They lived in Schweinsberg and

    had two children:

    + 75. Frieda Schaumberg, born 28.02.1901 in Schweinsberg.

    After 1901 in Kirchhain, on 09.06.1933 they left Kirchhain for

    Warburg. They were deported from Muenster-Bielefeld to

    Theresienstadt (Terezin) on 01.08.1942 with the transport No. XI/!,

    Moritz Schaumberg perished on 28.01.1943 in Terezin, Rosa

    Schaumberg on 30.03.1943.

  3. Jettchen Schaumberg, born 27.11.1872 in Schweinsberg, she was married to Samuel

    Rothschild from Abterode. They lived in Abterode.

  4. Rosa Schaumberg, born 30.12.1874 in Schweinsberg, she was married to Moses

    Goldschmidt from Abterode. They lived in Abterode. Rosa

    Goldschmidt died there in 1899.

  5. Adolf Schaumberg, born 14.07.1878 in Schweinsberg, he married on 27.08.1905

Fanny Heibrunn from Abterode, born 28.07.1882. Adolf and

Fanny Schaumberg lived in Schweinsberg, they had two children:

They left Kirchhain for Duesseldorf on 10.03.1938. Adolf

Schaumberg died there on 26.12.1938. Fanny Schaumberg fled to

Amsterdam, but she was deported from there to Auschwitz and

was declaired dead on 08.05.1945.

32. Isaak Spier, born 12.06.1850 in Leidenhofen, he married Minna Ruelff from Rauisch-

Holzhausen, born 16.02.1859, daughter of Moses Ruelff and his wife Gelle,

nee Katz. They lived in Ebsdorf first, later in Rauisch-Holzhausen. They

had three sons:

80. Siegfried Spier, born 29.11.1886 in Rauisch-Holszhausen, he passed

away 21.02.1935.

Isaak Spier died on 17.06.1910, Minna Spier on 05.11.1927.

33. Anschel Spier b: Jul 25, 1854 Leidenhofen d: Feb 9, 1929 Marburg

Married Regine Katzenstein (daughter of Heinemann K. 1824-1891 and Sara Marx 1833) was born June 12, 1860 Frankenau and died June 30, 1929. (I have a photo of their stone that I can send you).

Ulmann. They left Schweinsberg for Mainz. They had

Sally Seligmann Schaumberg died on 15.02.1920 in

Mainz.

39. Herrmann Schaumberg, born 21.09.1867 in Schweinsberg, he married Rika Katten

from Josbach. They migrated to the USA, stayed and died in

New York.

41. Sophie Schaumberg, born 16.08.1876 in Schweinsberg, she was married to Hermann

Spiro from Fulda. They lived in Fulda, Hermann Spiro died there,

Sophie Spiro was deported to Kassel and from Kassel on

07.09.1942 (Kassel-Chemnitz to Theresienstadt (Terezin),

transport-no. XV/1 and from there to Treblinka on 29.09.1942.

42. Gustav Schaumberg, born 03.08.1881 in Schweinsberg, he married Auguste

Goldschmidt from Ziegenhain, born 02.09.1877. They lived in

Schweinsberg till 1929, they had three children:

Auguste Schaumberg fled to the Netherlands. She was arrested in

the concentration camp Westerbork and deported from there to
Sobibor on 20.07.1942, where she perished after arriving on

23.07.1943.

Gustav Schaumberg emigrated to Chile, after war he went

to Israel and then back to Franfurt/Main where he died 28.03.1971.

    04.07.1856, son of Marum Katz and his wife Esther, nee

Adelebsen and was deported to Warschau (Warsawa) on

26.03.1942. He wasdeclaired dead 03.06.1943 by the lower

district court of Asslar near Wetzlar.

Julius Schaumberg died 25.10.1908 in Schweinsberg. Rosa

Schaumberg was deported.

 

46. Rachel Schaumberg, born 30.09.1870 in Schweinsberg, she was married on 17.12.1892

to Meier Katten from Rauisch-Holzhausen, born 27.12.1862, son

of Simon Katten and his wife Marianne, nee Edelmuth. Meier and

Rachel Katten lived in Schweinsberg till 1929, then they moved to

Kirchhain, Markt 21/22. They had six children:

and migrated to New York. They had a son:

106. Guenther Schaumberg, born 02.12.1927 in Frankfurt/Main, he

joined the U.S. Air Force and was shot down at an air battle over

Kaiserslautern on 28.12.1944.

55. Emma Moses, born 02.06.1878 in Kirchhain, she was married on 01.08.1904 to Moses

Katz from Kestrich, born on 26.04.1877, son of Lob Katz and his wife

Bertha, nee Schaumberger from Kestrich. Moses and Emma Katz lived in

Kestrich, they had three children:

(Moses) Plaut from Reichensachen, born 31.11.1877, son of Selig Plaut

and his wife Henriette, nee Bleiweiss. Moritz and Bertha Plaut lived in

Kirchhain, they had two daughters:

Kassel to Riga. She is missed.

57. Emma Geiss, born 12.08.1884 in Mardorf, she was married on 17.05.1909 to

Heinemann Israel from Dillich, born 11.11.1882, son of Benedikt

Heinemann Israel and his wife Bertha, nee Katz.

Heinemann and Emma Israel had two children:

Schillerstrasse 7 and was deported from Kassel to the

Concentrationcamp Majdanek/Lublin (Poland) on 01.06.1942,

where he perished on 27.09.1942.

+ 113. Ilse Israel, born 10.02.1915 in Mardorf.

Emma Israel died on 22.04.1938 in Mardorf, Heinemann Israel went to

Kassel on 29.09.1938, he was deported to Auschwitz, survived and came

back to Kirchhain 1945. He lived there with his daughter Ilse Flachsmann

and died 30.06.1950.

58. Klara Geiss, born 12.07.1891 in Mardorf, she was married on 09.01.1921 to Adolf Stern

merchant, from Ober-Breidenbach, born 13.04.1891. Adolf and Klara Stern

had a daughter:

Adolf and Clara Geiss lived in Karlsruhe, Karl-Friedrich-Strasse No.16 from

1936-1940, Adolf Stern was the housekeeper of the jewish community in

Karlsruhe. They were deported from to Gurs (France) on 22.10.1940 and

from there to Auschwitz on 12.08.1942. Both are missed.

59. Friedrich Seligmann Kaiser, born 02.10.1882 in Mardorf, he married Bertha

Gomperts from Berlin, he took part in WWI. Friedrich

and Bertha Kaiser lived in Ruhrort/Duisburg, they had two

sons:

115. Horst Kaiser, born 20.07.1924 in Duisburg, he was

deported to an unknown place and declaired dead.

116. Edgar Kaiser, born 15.10.1927 in Duisburg, he was

deported to Minsk in 1942 and declaired dead.

Friedrich Kaiser was deported from Koeln to Minsk in

1942 and declaired dead.

Sachsenhausen-Oranienburg ("Sonderaktion gegen Asoziale"). He

came back to Mardorf on 16.09.1938. He tried to emigrate to Panama.

He was captured again on 09.11.1938 (Reichspogromnacht) and taken

to the concentration camp Buchenwald by the Gestapo Kassel. Back to

Mardorf he went with his family on 15.01.1939 to Koeln/Cologne,

Brabanter Strasse 27. From there he was deported to Riga in 1941

and declaired dead.

in Kassel Annastrasse 11, from 08.04.1932

Karthaeuserstrasse 4 and went on 05.06.1935 to

Frankfurt/Main, from where he was deported together

with his father to Minsk, he is missed.

Siegmund Schaumberg lived in Kassel 01.08.1931

Annastrasse, from 08.04.1932 Karthaeuserstrasse 4,

22.08.1935 Hohenzollernstrasse 62, he went to

Frankfurt/Main 20.10.1935, came back to Kassel,

Heinrichstrasse 4 on 08.01.1936 and left Kassel for

Frankfurt/Main on 09.02.1937. Siegmund Schaumberg was

deported from Frankfurt/Main to Minsk together with his

son Leo, he is missed.

67. Isidor Rothschild, born 01.02.1898 in Angenrod, he married Irene Stein from

Reichensachsen, born 19.12.1902, Isidor and Irene Rothschild

emigrated to Johannisburg/Southafrica.

68. Emmy Rothschild, born 02.10.1902 in Angenrod, she was married to Siegmund

Bacharach from Kestrich, born 24.02.1898 / 1889, son of

Abraham Bacharach and his wife Emilie, nee Stern.

Siegmund and Emmy Bacharach had a son:

125. Helmut Bacharach, born 16.04.1922 in Alsfeld, he emigrated

on 17.10.1935 to Southafrica. He took part in WW II.

Siegmung Bacharach emigrated to Southafrica on 01.12.1935,

Where he died on 31.01.1937 in Johannesburg. Emmy Bacharach

Followed him to Southafrica on 01.06.1936, where she died on

03.04.1957.

69. Siegfried Schaumberg, born 16.11.1886 in Schweinsberg, stock-merchant, he married

Margarethe Schmidt, born 11.05.1894 in Koblenz,

a non-jewish woman, they had a daughter:

+ 126. Ingeburg Schaumberg, born 25.01.1932 in Kassel.

They lived in Kassel since 01.10.1934 Steinweg No.18,

22.10.1934 Schaefergasse No.18, 01.10.1936 Garde-du-Corps-

Strasse 1 and 01.05.1937 Oberste Gasse No.21.

Siegfried Schaumberg was deported on 08.01.1940 to

Buchenwald. Two years later he was arrested in the

concentration camp Breitenau in Guxhagen near Kassel from

10.02.1942 to 31.03.1942 and deported from there to Dachau

31.03.1942, where he perished 09.09.1942.

Margarete Schaumberg and her daughter Ingeburg lived later /

or after war in Lohfelden near Kassel, Parkstrasse 29.

  1. Rosa Schaumberg, born 13.10.1888 in Schweinsberg, she went on 16.11.1886 to

    Rauisch-Holzhausen, was deported from Kassel on 07.09.1942 to

    Theresienstadt (Terezin) with transport no. XV/1 and from there

    on 23.01.1943 to Auschwitz where she perished.

  2. Flora Schaumberg, born 14.07.1891 in Schweinsberg, she was married on

    12.11.1926 Johanna Rapp, born 08.09.1901, daughter of

    the teacher Markus Rapp from Merzhausen.

    Siegmund and Johanna Schaumberg lived in Kirchhain,

    Schulstrasse 227, they had a son:

    127. Heinz Schaumberg, born 06.10.1927

    The family left Kirchhain for Warburg on 05.05.1933.

  2. Frieda Schaumberg, born 28.02.1901 in Schweinsberg, she was married on

    09.04.1926 to Julius (Ernst) Baer, born 24.06.1900, son of

    Adolf Baer and his wife Sophie, nee Rothschild from Kirchhain

    76.Ernst Schaumberg, born 12.06.1906 in Kirchhain, he went to Frankfurt/Main in

    1921, emigrated to Amsterdam, where he was hidden and

    survived.

  3. Gertude Schaumberg, born 18.05.1911 in Kirchhain, she was married on

  1. Selmar Schaumberg, born 16.07.1904 in Schweinsberg, he married Ruth Steinberg

    from Dettelbach. Selmar and Ruth Schaumberg lived in

    Frankfurt/Main. They were deported to Auschwitz in 1942.

  2. Ernst / Isidor Schaumberg, born 26.03.1906 in Schweinsberg, he married Julchen

134. Ruth Adler, born in Haifa.

  1. Sally Schaumberg, born 31.01.1894 in Schweinsberg, he married on 14.09.1921

Flora Schirling from Mardorf, born 05.09.1895 daughter of

Moses Schirling and his wife Hannah, nee Rothschild.

Sally and Flora Schaumberg had three children:

137. Hilde / Brunhilde Schaumberg, born 14.09.1921 in

Schweinsberg, she lived in Kassel Giessbergstrasse

No.2 from 26.10.1936 - 05.01.1938, then she came

back to Schweinsberg. She was deported to

Majdanek/Lublin on 31.05.1942.

+ 138. Werner Julius Schaumberg, born 11.05.1923 in

Schweinsberg

139. Fredy / Siegfried Schaumberg, born 15.04.1925 in

Schweinsberg, he was deported to Majdanek/Lublin,

on 31.05.1942, where he perished on 23.08.1942.

Sally and Flora Schaumberg were deported on 31.05.1942 to

Majdanek/Lublin, Sally Schaumberg perished there on

23.08.1942.

96. Siegmund Katten, born 25.08.1895 in Halsdorf, he married in 1925 Betty Baehr , born

13.07.1900. Siegmund and Betty Katten had two children:

140. Freddy Katten, born 21.10.1926 in Halsdorf

141. Heinz Katten, born 08.04.1930 in Halsdorf.

The family emigrated to the USA on 21.01.1938.

97. Emil Katten, born 08.06.1897 in Kirchhain, he married Erna Ziegelstein from

Sterzhausen, born 24.06.1909. Emil and Erna Katten had a daughter:

142. Inge Marianne Miriam Katten, born 29.06.1933 in Marburg.

The family emigrated to England on 31.07.1939 and from there to the USA.

100. Fredy Schaumberg, he married Else Manes from Koblenz. Fredy and Else

Schaumberg emigrated to New York. They had a daughter:

SIXTH GENERATION :

104. Ilse Schaumberg, she was married to Dr. Guenther Hecht,

they went from Frankfurt/Main to Bavaria and from there to

Baltimore/USA.

105. Edith Schaumberg, she married Herbert Albersheimer,

they emigrated to Baltimore/USA.

107. Ludolf Katz, born 22.02.1906 in Kestrich, he married Hertha Seifenheld from

Langenselbold. Ludolf and Hertha had a son:

144. Robert Katz

Ludolf and Hertha Katz emigrated to Johannesburg/Southafrica in 1936.

109. Max Herbert Katz, born 28.11.1911 in Kestrich, he married Ruth Plaut from

Reichensachsen, born 06.03.1922, daughter of Felix and Emma

Plaut. Ruth Katz emigrated in 1936 with a Alija-Group to Palestine

And visited for two years an Alija-School in Tel Aviv. In 1939 she

went to the USA, where her twin brother Gustav Plaut lived. In the

States she married Max Herbert Katz.They have

two daughters:

+ 146. Bernice Katz, born 18.07.1950 in New York.

Max Herbert Katz died on 26.12.1995 in New York.

113. Ilse Israel, born 10.02.1915 in Mardorf, she lived in Kassel from 1931/32. She was

deported from Kassel to Theresienstadt (Terezin) on 07.09.1942 with

transport no. XV/1, she survived and was liberated in Theresienstadt.

She came back to Kirchhain on 12.05.1945. She married Leo Flachsmann

from Kirchhain, born 16.10.1895. He died 21.07.1954.

114. Margot Stern, born 1923, she was taken with a "Kindertransport / Englandtransport"

from Karlsruhe to England on 08.12.1938. Later she lived in

Johannisburg/Southafrica.

126. Ingeburg Schaumberg, born 25.01.1932 in Kassel, daughter of Siegfried Schaumberg

and his wife Margarete, nee Schmidt. In 1942 her mother

brought her to relatives in Koblenz to save her from

persecution. From Koblenz she was taken to Langenschwarz

near Burghaun where she stayed till the end of the war. After

war she lived with her mother in Lohfelden, Parkstrasse 29. In

the 50th - before 1954 - she married Mr. Eiffert and they lived

in Lohfelden, Parkstrasse 26.

132. Leo Walter Spier, born 17.10.1927 in Rauisch-Holzhausen. He was deported to

Theresienstadt (Terezin) 06.03.1942, from there to Auschwitz on

18.05.1944, he survived and was liberated in Mauthausen in 1945.

He came back for a short time to Rauischholzhausen and migrated

then to the USA. He married in New York City on 12.09.1951 Karla

Spier, born 20.01.1937 in Zwesten, daughter of Max Spier and his

wife Selma, nee Oppenheimer from Frankenau. Leo Walter and

Karla have two sons:

+ 147. Arnold Roy Spier, born 07.05.1955 in New York City

+ 148. Joel Spier, born 17.03.1958 in New York City.

138. Werner Julius Schaumberg, born 11.05.1923, he went to Kassel 15.06.1932, came

back to Schweinsberg on 02.01.1939 and went then to

a Haschara-school in Neuendorf near Fuerstenwalde. In

April 1942 we worked with the "Reichsvereinigung

jüdischer Forsteinsatz" in Schoenfeld near Loebau. From

there he was deported on 06.09.1942 to Theresienstadt

(Terezin), and on 19.04.1943 to Auschwitz, he came back

after war, married 1946 in Marburg and migrated to the

USA.

 

SEVENTH GENERATION :

145. Judy Katz, born 28.07.1947 in New York, she was married to Gilberto Belava, born

25.12.1942 in Puerto Rica. Gilberto and Judy Belava have a son:

149. Marcel Belava, born 30.07.1978 in Connecticut/USA.

146. Bernice Katz, born 18.07.1950 in New York, she was married to Richard

Muller-Thym, born 03.07.1950 in New York. Richard and Bernice

Muller-Thym have a daughter:

150. Alessandra Muler-Thym, born 02.03.1977 in New York.

147. Arnold Roy Spier, born 07.05.1955 in New York City, he married Randi Jill

Chuback, born 12.09.1958 in New York City. Arnold Roy and

Randi Jill Spier have two sons:

151. Jeremy Ryan Spier, born 13.05.1986 in New York City

152. Brett Even Spier, born 15.02.1990 in New York City.

148. Joel Spier, born 17.03.1958 in New York City, he married Debbie Gruenspecht, born

30.03.1959 in New York City. Joel and Debbie Spier have three children:
